ABOUT
Gill MK Glynn
Hello and welcome!
I have been living in the UK 7 years now and I am originally from Southern Ireland. In 2010 I worked with Athletic Trainers/Sports Physios in Boston MA, USA where I decided to pursue a career in physiotherapy. Since this chapter in my life I have not looked back. I am a firm believer in balance and I myself demonstrate a healthy lifestyle combined with exercise and chill time. I believe our mental health is just as important as our physical health and I am keen to educate others on improving their lifestyle. I have worked with the NHS and gained invaluable experience working with patients who have neurological disorders, cardio-vascular conditions and musculoskeletal conditions.
Prior to starting my journey with physiotherapy I have worked abroad in the USA (California and Boston), Cyprus and Scotland. I have travelled Asia and educated myself on different cultures and their traditions. From bar and restaurant work to working in customer care I feel I have exceptional communication skills. These are skills which can be transferable to a healthcare setting and assist with improving patient satisfaction and care.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy- Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
Additional Qualifications:
*Level 3 Sports Massage Diploma- Glasgow Caledonian University, UK.
*Level 5 advanced Diploma in Nutritional Studies, Glasgow, UK.

I have successfully completed the physiotherapy undergraduate degree program of three years. This qualification allows me to treat patients within all three core areas- musculoskeletal, cardio-respiratory and neurological conditions. I now mostly specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) which is conditions such as painful shoulders, back pain, knee pain etc.
I have successfully completed a four year science degree in Ireland (2007-2011) where I gained invaluable experience and knowledge with biomechanics (how the body moves), human physiology, anatomy, sports psychology, nutrition and protein/carb feeding, weights training, coaching and information technology. All of the modules mentioned above are only few of what consisted in this degree. These modules have enabled me to transfer knowledge and skills into my physiotherapy practice allowing me to have a greater understanding of movement disorders and common problems people present with such as weight management, pain, difficulties with changing their behaviours/lifestyle.
